NLM will be hosting our 3rd Annual Bowie Bash and Pop-Up Art Sale – the official evening kick-off event for Philly Loves Bowie Week. NLM at Night: Bowie Bash, will be on Friday January 6th, coinciding with the opening of our Bowie-inspired Gallery and Art Sale, which runs until January 23rd.
Bowie Bash will feature live music by Johnny Showcase and Rumi Kitchen performing Bowie covers, specialty cocktails from Tattooed Mom and a raffle for some fun Bowie-inspired prizes. The pop-up gallery features local artists celebrating David Bowie’s legacy in the creative freedom he inspired. The artwork on display will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), in partnership with Philly Loves Bowie Week.
With the news of Dito’s, also known as Martha Graham Cracker, leukemia diagnosis, we will also be hosting a swabbing event with Be the Match during Bowie Bash on Jan 6th to help find a peripheral blood stem cell match. This will be an opportunity for anybody 18-40 years old to get swabbed to see if they are a potential match for Martha or for someone else needing a donor. The process is a quick one – you fill out a short medical history to determine if you are a fit to become a possible donor, then you swab your cheek, and finally you then wait to see if you are matched.
Early Bird and VIP access tickets are now on sale.
